Queensway Secondary School student Ng Hui Yi, 16, helping Madam Poon Soo Lan, 88, with her grocery shopping. About 300 needy residents in Queenstown were treated to lunch and given a hongbao to buy groceries at an event yesterday. The red packet contained $30, and the seniors were invited to shop at the Sheng Siong supermarket at Block 88, Tanglin Halt Road. Called My Shopping Partner 2016, the event was organised by the Queenstown Citizens' Consultative Committee and Queenstown Community Centre management committee, as well as the PAP Community Foundation. About 50 student volunteers from Queensway Secondary School also took part in the event, to accompany the elderly folk to do their grocery shopping.
