Home Briefs: Vote on bus captains' uniform designs

Vote on bus captains' uniform designs

Ahead of its mid-2016 launch in Singapore, London-based bus operator Tower Transit has set up a poll to let the public vote on uniform designs.

The company's poll at https://www.facebook.com/towertransitsg allows respondents to choose from four designs for male and female bus captains.

Bus captains on the 26 routes to be operated by Tower Transit have also been polled.

Their preferences will be taken into consideration together with the votes from the public, with more weighting being given to the votes of the bus captains.

Tower Transit says the poll has received over 1,000 votes so far. It will end on Nov 13.

Heavy traffic expected at checkpoints

Traffic at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints is expected to be heavy ahead of the Deepavali public holiday next Tuesday, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said yesterday.

The ICA has suggested that members of the public plan their journeys should they need to use either checkpoint. Motorists are advised to check the traffic situation at the two points before starting their journey.

Travellers are also advised to consider car-pooling, maintain lane discipline and, for those who qualify, use the enhanced Immigration Automated Clearance System lanes at the bus halls for immigration clearance.
