Suspect behind two robbery cases nabbed

A 29-year-old man believed to be involved in two cases of robbery last week was arrested on Sunday .

He is believed to have robbed two women of their cash and jewellery - a 27-year-old last Tuesday in Hougang Avenue 7 and a 31-year-old last Friday in Jalan Sultan.

If found guilty, he can be jailed for between three and 14 years, and faces 12 strokes of the cane.

Tickets to Night Safari at half-price in June

Guests to the Night Safari will enjoy 50 per cent off admission tickets this June.

Valid for adult, child and senior citizen tickets, the pricing promotion is available to those visiting the park after 9.15pm.

The promotion is open to Singapore citizens and permanent residents, as well as those holding employment passes, dependant passes and long-term visit passes.

The regular ticket prices are $45 for adults, $30 for children between ages three and 12 years old, and $18 for senior citizens.

Singapore envoy to Botswana appointed

Mr Chua Thai Keong has been appointed as Singapore's next High Commissioner to the Republic of Botswana.

He is also currently serving as Singapore's High Commissioner to South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland and Ambassador to Zimbabwe.

Mr Chua was Singapore's Non-Resident Ambassador to Chile from April 2014 to May last year and Ambassador to the Republic of Korea and Mongolia from September 2006 to December 2010.

He presented his credentials to the President of Botswana, Lieutenant- General Seretse Khama Ian Khama, yesterday.
