Reminder to sign up for GST Voucher benefits

The Finance Ministry has reminded Singaporeans eligible for the GST Voucher benefits and five-year Medisave top-up to sign up for the scheme if they have not already done so. They have until Dec 31 to sign up - either on the GST Voucher website or by completing the form enclosed in their reminder letters, which will be sent out by mid-November.

Stop-work orders at two work sites

The Manpower Ministry has issued stop-work orders at two work sites, after the recent deaths of two workers due to safety lapses.

The first incident occurred when a worker was pinned under steel plates on Oct 30 during a lifting operation at a factory occupied by Zoom Engineering. The second took place at a site along Punggol Way and Punggol Road occupied by China Railway No. 8-WSHC JV last Thursday. A worker died when he fell out of the bucket of an excavator.

New bus service, route extension in Jurong

A new bus service 258 to be introduced from Nov 21 will ply Upper Jurong Road, Pioneer Road North and Jurong West Street 63, 61, 71, 81, 82, 75 and 64.

Meanwhile, service 49, which plies between Taman Jurong and Jurong West, will be extended to Jurong East from Nov 22.
