Mid-Autumn Festival road closures

Some roads and lanes in Chinatown will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday and Sept 27 for the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations.

They include Eu Tong Sen Street, New Bridge Road and Temple Street. The closure is from 2pm to 11pm on Sunday, and from 5pm to 11pm on Sept 27.

As a result, some SMRT bus services will be temporarily diverted. Those affected on Sunday are bus services 61, 190, 851, 961 and 970, while those affected on Sept 27 are bus services 190, 851, 961 and 970.


Trains, buses to run later for Formula One

All train services and some bus services will run later for the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix from Sept 18 to 20.

SMRT and SBS Transit will extend train operating hours by between 1 and 21/2 hours. SMRT will also extend the operating hours of bus services 173A, 189A, 941, 945, 947, 300, 301, 302, 307, 804, 812, 859A, 901, 911, 912 and 913.

SBS Transit will run four special bus services - EW1, EW5, EW27 and NS16 - that will start from the bus interchanges in Pasir Ris, Bedok, Boon Lay and Ang Mo Kio.


Man found dead in Toa Payoh park

A 53-year-old man was found lying motionless in a park near Block 81A in Lorong 4 Toa Payoh yesterday. Police received a call for help around 7.57am, and are investigating the unnatural death.
