Home Briefs: Direct flights from Singapore to Fiji

Direct flights from Singapore to Fiji

Travellers will be able to take direct flights from Changi Airport to Fiji, linking them to the South Pacific islands from April 5. Fiji Airways will be operating a twice-weekly service between Nadi and Singapore on a 273-seat Airbus 330, said Changi Airport in a release yesterday.

The 10-hour flight will save travellers at least three hours compared with current options, which require a transfer stop in Australia or New Zealand.

Changes at the top at CDAC

Ms Grace Fu resigned from the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) board of directors last month after she was appointed the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth.

Meanwhile, Ms Sun Xueling, who is chief executive of Business China and a Pasir Ris-Punggol MP, has been appointed a member of the CDAC board of directors from Nov 4.

Mr Goh Chim Khim, 63, CDAC's executive director, will retire next Wednesday. He will be succeeded by Mr Pok Cheng Chong, 47, who is now deputy executive director of CDAC. He will take on the role next Thursday.
