Accident: Town council appoints examiner

Jurong Town Council has appointed an authorised examiner to carry out "thorough investigation" into the causes of an accident last Friday where 85-year-old Khoo Bee Hua had her hand severed in a lift at Block 322, Tah Ching Road.

Her left hand was severed when she tried to stop the lift door from closing.


Man's body found in Lower Seletar Reservoir

The body of a man in his 50s was retrieved from the seaward side of the tidal gate at Lower Seletar Reservoir near Yishun Avenue 1 yesterday morning.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The police have classified the case as an unnatural death.


Private museum among STB award finalists

Private Peranakan museum The Intan and international trade fair organiser Koelnmesse are among the finalists for the 2015 Singapore Experience Awards, the Singapore Tourism Board announced yesterday.

There are 79 finalists vying for 25 awards. Winners will be announced at a ceremony at Raffles City Convention Centre on Oct 21.
