7 teens aiding cops with bullying probe

Seven teenagers are assisting in investigations after a police report was filed over the alleged bullying of a young girl.

A video posted online shows two girls in blue talking to a girl in black. Suddenly, the girl on the right slaps the girl in black and the girl on the left joins in. Shin Min Daily News said in a report on Wednesday that the incident occurred on Feb 15.

The police confirmed with The Sunday Times that a report was lodged and that seven teens aged between 15 and 19 are assisting with investigations.


36 arrested for vice in 3-day operation

Thirty-six people were arrested in a three-day operation by the Central Police Division for a range of crimes, including gambling and the offering of sexual services.

The operation, which ran from Wednesday to Friday, took place in Little India, Jalan Besar, Chinatown and Tiong Bahru, the police said in a statement yesterday.

Eighteen women were arrested for providing sexual services. The other nine women and nine men were arested for gambling and drug-related offences.

Cash amounting to $1,438 was seized. Investigations are ongoing.


Jurong police fights crime with Pokemon

Jurong Police Division has organised a crime prevention campaign with The Pokemon Company in a first such collaboration for the Singapore Police Force.

The aim is to tap Pokemon characters to spread messages on how to prevent crime during the March school holidays. The campaign was launched yesterday at Jurong Point and will run till March 18.
