SINGAPORE – Fans who have so far been unable to catch a glimpse of Joseph Schooling, Singapore’s first Olympic champion, will get a final chance when he rounds up his homecoming with an open-top bus parade on Thursday (Aug 18).

The swimmer, who created history when he won the 100m butterfly, will go on a three-stop victory parade which ends at Raffles City Shopping Centre. He will alight at each stop to engage supporters.

The first stop is Marine Terrace Market, a stone’s throw from the Schooling Marine Parade residence. Schooling is scheduled to reach there at 10am.

The bus will then proceed to Singtel Comcentre Plaza, where he will be from 11.30am to 12.15pm.

The last stop is Raffles City Shopping Centre, where he will meet fans at the atrium from 12.45pm till 2pm. Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Grace Fu and Minister for Social and Family Development Tan Chuan-Jin will join the entourage.

The University of Texas student is scheduled to fly back to the United States, where he is studying, early on Friday.
