SGH hepatitis C cluster outbreak: 917 patients tested, no new cases

SINGAPORE - A total of 917 patients have been screened for hepatitis C, the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) said in an update on Friday (Nov 13).

As of 1pm on Nov 13, 891 were tested negative, with no new cases found. Twenty-three test results are pending.

A total of 317 staff have been screened and all the results were negative.

SGH announced on Oct 6 that 22 kidney patients had contracted hepatitis C while receiving treatment in the hospital.

The hospital is testing patients admitted to Ward 64A and Ward 67 from January to September 2015.
