Five new dialysis centres will be built over the next two years by the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), to cope with growing rates of kidney failure as Singapore ages.

The charity's new centres, which will bring its total number to 30, will be situated in areas such as Yishun, Bukit Panjang, Jurong and Bendeemer, where there is a high demand for dialysis services.

Part of the cost will come from the $10 million donated by five sponsors, including The Singapore Buddhist Lodge, the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple and Thailand's Sirivadhanabhakdi Foundation.
