SINGAPORE - Just two months after its official opening, Farrer Park Hospital (FPH) picked up an Asia Pacific award at the Global Health and Travel Awards on Wednesday night (May 18).

Lauded as the Best New Hospital of the Year in Asia Pacific, the private hospital was recognised for its competitiveness in the industry and having measures to provide a good consumer experience at every touch point.

The consumer choice award was decided after a survey of over 6,500 end-customers across 12 countries in the Asia Pacific region and a judging process by market research firm Frost & Sullivan's panel of industry experts.

The hospital's chief executive, Dr Timothy Low, received the award on the team's behalf at a gala night on Wednesday. "Farrer Park is a special hospital, not just in the physical construct, but the culture of clinical and service excellence is embedded in the DNA of everyone in the hospital," he said.

FPH, a 220-bed facility located directly above Farrer Park MRT station, is housed in the same building as a five-star hotel, spa and specialist medical centre.

Some of its features include 15 gardens within the hospital, bath benches with cutouts to allow patients to wash themselves while remaining seated, and technology to send real time information to doctors' mobile devices, said FPH in a media statement.
