SINGAPORE - JurongHealth Services (JurongHealth) will start operating from the new Ng Teng Fong General Hospital at Jurong East by July this year, said the Ministry of Health and JurongHealth in a joint press release.

Alexandra Hospital will then be closed for maintenance and renovation works. For a smooth transition, JurongHealth is working closely with the other public hospitals and polyclinics to put in place measures to minimise disruption and ensure continuity of patient care.

JurongHealth will continue to operate Specialist Outpatient Clinics services at Alexandra Hospital until its move to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

In the meantime, JurongHealth will be contacting its patients. Patients who prefer to continue their care with JurongHealth can arrange to have their follow-up appointments at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital when it opens.

Patients who prefer to have their appointments nearer to their homes can be referred to other hospitals. Patients can call the JurongHealth general enquiry line (6472 2000) for assistance.

Closer to the period of JurongHealth's move to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) ambulances that currently send patients to Alexandra Hospital will be diverted to nearby public hospitals, mainly the Singapore General Hospital and National University Hospital. More details on this will be available at a later date.

By third quarter 2015, Alexandra Hospital will reopen in phases. It will be run by a new team from Sengkang Health.
