Q What's your secret to looking fabulous?

A A combination of regular exercise and a low-calorie diet. Also, having the right motivation to commit to a diet and exercise plan, whether it is for health reasons or just wanting to look good.

Q Was there ever a time when you weren't fit and fab?

A I was a fat kid and being fat continued into adulthood. For the past few years, my wife had been nagging me to exercise more, but I thought it was impossible to lose all my belly fat.

However, I found out at the beginning of this year about my high cholesterol levels and liver issues in a routine health check-up.

I decided to exercise more and watch what I eat. I have lost 20kg in five months and maintained my weight at 60kg for about two months now.

Q What is your diet like?

A I have reduced the amount of carbohydrates and processed food in my diet. That includes white rice, bread and sugary drinks.

Q What are your indulgences?

A I give myself one to two "cheat days" a week and go out with my friends and family to indulge in waffles or hawker food.

Q How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance?

A After I started my exercise routine, I found that it was effective for relieving stress too.

Q What are the three most important things in your life?

A Family, food and travel - the perfect formula for happiness.

Q Would you go for plastic surgery?

A I don't see the need to go to such lengths to improve my appearance.

Q Do you think you're sexy?

A I like my body a lot more, now that I have lost so much weight.

Q What are your favourite and least favourite parts of your body?

A I recently rediscovered my hip bones after losing a thick layer of fat around them.

    Height: 170cm

    Weight: 60kg

The systems analyst took matters into his own hands after finding out about his high cholesterol levels and liver issues in January.

So radical was his transformation that some friends and family members were concerned that he was losing weight too quickly. He has maintained his weight at 60kg for about two months now.

His wife, Yihua, who was the first to urge him to get fit, also keeps herself in shape at the gym thrice a week.

In his free time, Mr Ng enjoys watching TV sitcoms and collecting Lego sets.

Least favourite has to be my legs, as they are disproportionately thin, compared to the rest of my body.

Q What are your must-dos before and after fitness sessions?

A Warm-ups and cool-downs are a must. I also like to eat a piece of fruit or have a cup of yoghurt after an exercise session to aid in recovery.

Q How important is it for you to keep up with your fitness routine?

A Very important. A routine helps me stay focused and interested.

Q What's the biggest sacrifice you have had to make to get to your current size today?

A Resisting my favourite foods like sweet coffee and minced pork noodles.

Q What do your family and friends say about your active lifestyle?

A They are supportive, but were concerned that I was losing weight too quickly. My wife is trying to adapt to my new look and behaviour, which make me a very different person from the one she dated.
