Health Promotion Board launches 'Health on Wheels' in Taman Jurong

The Health Promotion Board (HPB) has launched a mobile bus to raise awareness about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle for children and their parents.

"Health on Wheels" comprises six interactive health zones on myopia, physical activity, mental health, nutrition, hygiene and oral health.

The bus will travel to 50 preschools, 50 primary schools and 50 community centres by year-end. Another three buses will be rolled out by 2015, pending the success of this pilot project.

The initiative is part of the board's launch of a multi-generational health promotion programme - Staying Healthy Together as a Family - for residents of Taman Jurong. It was launched today at Taman Jurong Community Club by Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who is also the MP of the constituency.
