Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong arrived in style yesterday evening in Ang Mo Kio Street 31, waving the national flag atop a Hippo bus.

Mr Lee, an MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC, was greeted by 8,000 Teck Ghee residents along the street, which was closed to traffic for a National Day street parade where residents enjoyed snacks and took part in various activities.

Spectators at the one-hour parade were treated to a lion and dragon dance, and an inline skating performance.

Mr Lee also presented awards to nine community projects such as Bread Project, where volunteers collect unsold bread from bakeries to distribute to needy Singaporeans.
