Hari Raya celebration dinner for 500 residents in Tanjong Pagar GRC and Radin Mas SMC

SINGAPORE - Some 500 residents from Tanjong Pagar GRC and Radin Mas SMC celebrated Hari Raya together with a dinner and friendly competition on Thursday night.

Held at Bukit Merah Central Amphitheatre, the event saw residents enjoying performances and showcasing their own singing and ketupat making skills over a buffet dinner.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Chan Chun Sing and Senior Minister of State for Law and Education Indranee Rajah, who are MPs for Tanjong Pagar GRC, along with Mr Sam Tan, Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth and in the Prime Minister's Office, who is MP for Radin Mas SMC, attended the event.

Mr Chan said that the occasion was "a double joy" as it celebrated both Hari Raya and SG50.

"Over the last may years the Malay-Muslim community has progressed a lot just as the rest of Singapore has," he said.

"In two days we will celebrate 50years of nation building, and we take great pride and joy in our celebration of what we have achieved together as one country over the last 50 years."
