Halfway houses aim to raise $20,000 in mosques islandwide on Friday

STAFF and volunteers of Jamiyah Halfway House and Pertapis Halfway House aim to raise about $20,000 in a fund-raising drive to be held across mosques this Friday.

Funds will be used to cover operating costs and run programmes for residents undergoing community rehabilitation at both halfway houses.

This is the fourth year that the two organisations are working together to raise funds.

66 mosques will take part in the project this year. Half of those located in the eastern region of Singapore will be covered by staff and volunteers from Pertapis, while the remaining 33 located in the west will be covered by fund-raisers from Jamiyah.

Helpers will be collecting donations between 12 and 2pm across mosques on Friday.
