Graphic designer jailed four weeks for molesting two women

A graphic designer was sentenced to four weeks' jail on Thursday for molesting two women.

Xu Zhengxiong, 27, pleaded guilty to squeezing the buttock of a 42-year-old woman and touching the buttock of a 26-year-old woman last August.

The court heard that on the evening of Aug 20, the 42-year-old victim was returning to her home in Bishan after jogging when she saw Xu while she was walking past Bishan Loft.

When she was walking along the void deck of Block 124, Bishan Street 12, she suddenly felt her right buttock being squeezed. She turned around and saw Xu running away. She screamed but there was no one around to help her.

The victim later called the police and gave a description of Xu. After investigating, the police managed to trace Xu.

Four days earlier, Xu was in the same bus as the 26-year-old victim who ignored him when he smiled at her.

She later got down at a bus stop but did not know that Xu was following her. He later molested her along Joo Chiat Road.

Xu has a similar conviction in 2008 and was fined $6,000.

District Judge Eddy Tham allowed him to defer sentence until Feb 27.

Xu could have been jailed for up to two years, fined, caned or received any of the combined punishments.
