Mrs Wee Kim Wee, the wife of the late former Singapore President, turned 99 yesterday. About 100 people held a party for her at her Siglap home. Her great- granddaughter Bethany Wee, 10, blew out the candle on a cake with the number 100, Mrs Wee's age according to Chinese custom. The custom deems individuals as one year old at birth.
