Growing up, Foo Xu Hui loved dancing and could not stop moving whenever she heard music playing. Then she fell while walking in the rain and became paralysed from the waist down. This is her story.

SINGAPORE - It was just a slip on the pavement on a rainy day in school.

When Ms Foo Xu Hui fell and hit her lower back on the kerb, the 17-year-old found herself in so much pain that she could not move, and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
