It was a bright and cheery morning of free massages, haircuts and health screenings for some 80 elderly residents from Ang Mo Kio GRC yesterday. The seniors, who are under the care of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, also had a wholesome breakfast at NTUC FoodFare at shopping mall AMK Hub. In addition, they were treated to a Teochew song performance by the Khairi Bro Band (above left). These activities were all part of the Mercatus Smile Project by the Mercatus Co-operative, which owns and manages AMK Hub. The co-op is one of the social enterprises under NTUC Enterprise, the labour movement's social enterprise arm.
