SINGAPORE - Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) is throwing a "Panda Party" at the River Safari to mark the third anniversary of giant pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia's stay in Singapore.

Children born in 2007 and 2008 will be granted free entry to the attraction from Sept 1-30. This is extended to Singaporeans, permanent residents and long-term visit pass holders.

September is also the month when both pandas celebrate their birthdays - Jia Jia will be seven on Sept 3, while Kai Kai turns eight on Sept 14.

A private birthday bash for the duo will be held on Sept 3, with 10 invites up for grabs via a social media event.

There will also be a "Panda Party" week between Sept 5 and 13, during which activities such a panda awareness booth, meet-and-greet sessions, arts and crafts lessons and a talk by a panda reproductive specialist will be held.

On April 21, Kai Kai and Jia Jia attempted to mate for the first time. The 40-minute session was captured and a collage of 20 photos released by WRS.
