Four men arrested for separate housebreaking offences committed on same day

Four men were arrested for their involvement in two separate break-ins committed within the same day, the police said in a statement on Friday.

The first break-in occurred at about 3pm on Monday at a restaurant along Harding Road. The safe in the restaurant was damaged and about $28,000 in cash was stolen.

Following ground investigations, police officers arrested two men aged 24 and 25 on Thursday.

A total of $23,635 has been recovered from the suspects.

The second case was also reported on Monday at about 9pm at a private residence in Choa Chu Kang. Cash, jewellery and luxury watches amounting to more than $40,000 were reported stolen.

Two men aged 27 and 35 were arrested for the case on Thursday along Bayfront Avenue following ground investigations, said police.

The suspects are believed to have entered the private residential unit by scaling over the boundary wall and prying open one of its sliding doors.
