Five members of the Singapore Boys' Brigade(BB) received the President's Award on Tuesday at the Istana.

President Tony Tan Keng Yam presented the award to these candidates who emerged top in the Boys' Brigade Primers Programme. The recipients were Senior Cadet Lieutenant (SCL) Ang Zheng Shun, SCL Jorrick Lim, SCL Josiah Tan Yi Teng, SCL Lim Xuan Zheng and SCL Peter Chong Ken Yang.

The President's award is given to members who have fulfilled a series of proficiency tests and rigorous requirements in leadership and community service for the past six years.

The Boy's Brigade has more than 7,000 boys and officers in 117 companies in Singapore, each of which is attached to a school and co-sponsored by a church.
