SINGAPORE - A fire broke out in a Housing Board flat in Woodlands on Friday (Sept 22) evening, charring the outside of the unit.

The fire occurred in the living room of a flat in Block 886B, Woodlands Drive 50, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told The Straits Times.

Facebook user Normia Abdullah posted a photo of the block at 7.22pm, saying there was a fire next to her block.

The picture showed heavily charred windows and exterior walls.

SCDF said no one was injured in the fire.

It put out the fire using a water jet, and dispatched two fire engines, two fire bikes, a Red Rhino and a support vehicle after receiving a call at 6.09pm.

Investigations on how the fire occurred are ongoing, SCDF said.
