Fire breaks out in Hougang flat, no injuries reported

SINGAPORE - A fire broke out at a flat in Hougang on Tuesday (Oct 17) morning, with plumes of smoke seen rising from the window on the top floor.

The incident occurred at Block 417, Hougang Avenue 8, citizen journalism site Stomp reported.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force told The Straits Times that the fire occurred in a living room of a unit on the 13th floor.

It was alerted around 9.40am and extinguished the fire with a water jet. No one was injured.

A video contributed to Stomp shows the fire blazing inside the flat, with the sound of sirens in the background.
