SINGAPORE - A fire broke out at St Regis Hotel on Tanglin Road on Sunday afternoon (Aug 21) but no one was hurt.

Some people in the building were evacuated - before the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived - because of the smoke produced.

SCDF was alerted to the incident at about 3.40pm and established that the fire took place at a spa on the second floor and involved the spa's heating unit.

Firefighters put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.

SCDF sent a fire engine, three Red Rhinos and three support vehicles to the scene.
