SINGAPORE - A fire broke out at Ang Mo Kio MRT station early Wednesday (Nov 25) morning, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

SCDF said it was alerted to the fire at 5.50am and dispatched two fire engines, two red rhinos, an ambulance and six support vehicles to the scene.

The fire was put out using two 9kg fire extinguishers.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

It is not clear if the fire was related to the train disruption on the North-South Line between Yishun and Bishan stations at around the same time.

In a tweet at 8.08am, rail operator SMRT said its engineers had restored power at Ang Mo Kio station and was testing the rail lines.

The train disruption was first announced at 5.54am and resolved more than two hours later, at 8.11am.
