A fire broke out at a warehouse on Tuas Avenue 11 on Sunday afternoon, involving petroleum-based products.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the fire at 3.38pm and sent eight fire engines, two Red Rhinos, four supporting vehicles, one ambulance and one unmanned firefighting machine.
It took two and a half hours to put out the fire, with the help of 14 water and foam jets. The jets used include two aerial platform monitors which were used for aerial firefighting, and an unmanned firefighting machine which was deployed inside the warehouse to apply a foam blanket over the raging fire, which took up an area of about 50m by 50m.
External foam jets were used to surround the warehouse to contain the fire and to prevent it from spreading to the neighbouring units. SCDF is carrying out damping-down operations.
There were no reported casualties. About 80 SCDF personnel were involved. The cause of the fire is under investigation, said SCDF.
