A fire broke out in a first floor unit in Orchard Central shopping centre late Thursday night.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call at 10.51pm and arrived on the scene within eight minutes.

They had to forcibly enter the unit.

The fire was swiftly extinguished and there were no injuries, said SCDF.
