FarEastFlora.com and ITE sign MOU on new Nitec in Floristry course

Responding to a growing need for skilled florists in Singapore, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and FarEastFlora.com on Tuesday, signed a memorandum of understanding to work together on a new course in the industry.

"The students will learn not just floral technique, but how to run a business," said ITE College Central principal, Dr Ang Kiam Wee,

A class of 40 students, mostly under 20-years-old, began the two-year Nitec in Floristry course in January this year.

Largely an industry driven by 30 to 40-year-olds, the new course hopes to inject younger blood into the industry to accommodate a growing events business in Singapore, said FarEastFlora.com managing director managing director Ryan Chioh.
