Twelve-year-old Shannon Ong swinging through the trees on a flying fox yesterday. Her father, Mr Ong Kok Heng, cheered her on as the pair took part in the Safra AVventura Families for Life Challenge, organised by Safra Yishun. Shannon and her father emerged champions in the adventure race's 5km Ultra Kids category, with a time of about 90 minutes.

In another segment of the challenge, 12-year-old Muhd Aqil Nabil crawls his way through a sand pit with his father, Mr Muhd Zaidi Juwari. Safra AVventura celebrated its 10th anniversary yesterday with a record 104 parent-and-child teams, who bonded through activities such as tent-pitching, the flying fox and uni-cycling.

Another 102 teams competed in the Youth, Sprint and Ultra categories, which consisted of more challenging tasks such as navigating 32km to 35km on foot, bike and kayak.
