A factory fire broke out early Monday morning at Loyang Crescent in the Loyang Industrial Estate.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the fire at 3.55am. Two fire engines, two Red Rhinos, two ambulances and four support vehicles were dispatched.

The blaze, about 20m by 20m in size, was caused by cleaning agents in the production area of the factory. It took five water jets and 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Three casualties - two females and one male - were sent to Changi General Hospital for smoke inhalation.
