SINGAPORE - An eye-catching modified bicycle taken from its owner after an alleged assault outside Marina Bay Sands (MBS) has been found, but not before $5,000 worth of damage was done to it.

The colourful bike is worth $50,600, said its owner Troy, because of modifications he has made to it over 11 years. These include a $2,000 reflector, LED lights that cost over $10,000, 110 stickers and about 200,000 Swarovski crystals.

He told citizen journalism website Stomp that one man pushed him to the ground, while another stole the bicycle when he was about 60m away in an incident that occurred near South Coast, a bistro and bar at MBS, on Sunday evening.

The police said that investigations are ongoing after a report was made, My Paper reported on Tuesday.

Troy said that with the police's help, the bicycle was found in bushes near MBS, but it had been badly damaged to the tune of $5,000. He told My Paper that he was relieved as he had suffered a sleepless night.
