SINGAPORE - A heavy downpour provided some relief from hazy conditions at about 11am on Tuesday (Sept 15).

The National Environment Agency (NEA) had said "heavy thundery showers with gusty wind" were expected over many areas of Singapore" at around 11am to noon.

While the rain provided a little respite from the haze and the heat, the forecast for the rest of the day is of hazy conditions, according to NEA's website.

As of noon, the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) was between 128 and 150. The unhealthy range is 101-200.

The three-hour PSI, an indicative reading not tied to health advisory, was 110 at noon, after crossing the 200-mark on Monday night.

If the air quality stays above 200 for 24 hours, it would be considered very unhealthy (201-300).
