Hazy skies to persist on Saturday, three-hour PSI in moderate range

SINGAPORE - Moderately hazy conditions are expected as the Pollutions Standard Index inched upwards on Saturday afternoon.

The three-hour PSI recorded at 1pm was 77, up from 65 at 7am.

In an advisory issued on Friday evening, the National Environment Agency said that grey skies will continue as "prevailing winds are expected to be light and variable in direction".

Air quality on Friday evening was particularly bad, with the three-hour PSI crossing into the unhealthy range. It peaked at 106 at 6pm.

At noon on Saturday, the 24-hour PSI was between 74 and 83. The highest reading of 83 was recorded in the west of Singapore.

NEA said members of the public can continue with normal activities given the air quality forecast.
