SINGAPORE - Fast food chains McDonald's, KFC and Pizza Hut have suspended delivery service due to the worsening haze.

McDonald's, in a Facebook post, said: "Due to the current state of the haze, and to ensure the safety of our McDelivery riders, we will be halting all McDelivery orders until further notice. We regret any inconvenience caused and thank you for your kind understanding."

Meanwhile, the Singapore Sports Hub has also suspended all strenuous activities at its outdoor venues till further notice.

The venues affected include the OCBC Aquatic Centre, Splash-N-Surf and Water Sports Centre, it said in a statement on Thursday evening.

Members of the public have been advised to take the necessary health precautions while using the public precinct areas, such as the outdoor basketball court and beach volleyball court.

The 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) was 215-263 at 8pm, moving entirely into the low and mid-section of the very unhealthy range at 6pm.

The three-hour PSI peaked at 317.

The Sports Hub will continue to monitor the haze situation and will reopen the venues once air quality improves.
