Singapore's third law school at SIM University (UniSIM), set to open next January, aims to address a predicted shortage of lawyers in the fields of criminal and family law.

Applications for the 60 places in the course open this month, with 80 per cent of the places going to mature students.

The rest of the places will go to A-level school leavers and polytechnic diploma holders.
