Primary 4 pupils Philena Wu (left) and Meliane Tan (right), both 10, taking notes during their Learning Journey visit to the Singapore Press Holdings News Centre yesterday afternoon. They were among some 250 pupils, teachers and parents from CHIJ Our Lady of Nativity learning about journalism. The three-hour session featured presentations by The Straits Times' executive editor Sumiko Tan, managing editor Fiona Chan and social media editor Daryl Chin, as well as a virtual tour of the SPH Printing Press. Pupils fired questions, with many asking the speakers about the pros and cons of being a journalist, how they overcome a writer's block, and if there was anything they would give up journalism for. Schools interested in the Straits Times Learning Journey programme can write to stprojects@sph.com.sg with their inquiries, with the subject "ST Learning Journey".
