Malay charity moves its history into the digital age

SINGAPORE - The Prophet Muhammad's Birthday Memorial Scholarship Fund (LBKM) is marking its 50th anniversary by putting its historical material on the National Library Board's website.

The charity, which helps children of all races, will display old photographs and publications dating back to 1968 on the site as well as current material.

The two organisations signed a memorandum of understanding at the National Library on Saturday.

The LBKM said it hopes "to enable the public to obtain information about the history of LBKM more easily".

The charity also gave out its Prestigious and Merit Scholarship Awards to 15 students.

These are awarded to Malay/Muslim students in the top 10 universities worldwide, based on the Times Higher Education and Quacquarelli Symonds rankings.
