SINGAPORE - British artist Stephen Wiltshire proved an inspiration to students on a visit to Pathlight School on Monday.

The 40-year-old savant toured the autism-focused school in Ang Mo Kio at the end of a 10-day trip which has seen him paint a panorama of the city's skyline from memory.

He walked around the school's compound and spoke to students working in its foyer cafe and science labs.

Mr Wiltshire, who is autistic, also demonstrated his artistic skills by putting pen to paper along with 11 students in the auditorium.

Aspiring artist and Pathlight student Glenn Phua said he admired Mr Wiltshire's awe-inspiring visual memory. The 17-year-old said: "I need to look at more pictures and practise."
