All 300 places at The Straits Times Education Forum this weekend have been snapped up.
Participants at the inaugural event this Sunday will hear from Education Minister Heng Swee Keat, who will be giving the keynote address. He will touch on how parents can work with schools to support and develop their children.
The half-day event at the Singapore Management University's Mochtar Riady Auditorium will also feature other speakers like Professor Andrew Martin, an educational psychologist from the University of New South Wales. National University of Singapore undergraduate David Hoe, a former Normal (Technical) stream student will also talk about what motivated him to aim for university and a teaching career.
The audience, expected to be made up of mostly young parents, will be able to pose questions to Mr Heng at a session moderated by editor of The Straits Times, Mr Warren Fernandez. There will also be a panel discussion on child motivation led by the newspaper's senior education correspondent Sandra Davie.
