760 secondary 3 & 4 school children competing to be best in Chinese

MORE than 30 schools will be taking part in Lianhe Zaobao and Nanyang Girls' School's inaugural Chinese Challenge this year.

The preliminary round started July 12 morning at Nanyang Girls' School.

A total of 760 Secondary 3 and 4 students will be taking part in the Challenge which involves translation and knowledge of Chinese proverbs and idioms, as well as the adept application of phrases.

The top nine schools from the preliminaries will enter the semi-finals on 26 July. The Grand Finals will be held the same day.
