Drugs worth $87,000 seized at Woodlands Checkpoint from Malaysian biker

Drugs worth over $87,000 were seized from a Malaysian man at Woodlands Checkpoint on Saturday morning.

Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers found three black bundles - two containing a total of 745g of heroin, and the third containing 279g of cannabis - hidden in the 19-year-old's motorcycle.

He was entering Singapore and stopped by officers conducting routine checks at about 5.25am.

During the search, the CNB officers spotted a missing screw on the fuel tank of the motorcycle and discovered the bundles hidden under the tank.

The man was arrested and is being investigated for drug importation.

If convicted, he may face the death penalty.
