A white Proton Saga caught fire along Keppel Road in the direction of VivoCity on Saturday evening.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force, responding to a call made at 7.35pm, arrived at the scene in about five minutes.

Fire fighters spent about 10 minutes putting out the fire using two jets. The male driver of the vehicle, who is believed to be about 40-years-old, suffered slight burns to his right calf.

He was conscious when he was conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital.
