Donate $100 in food vouchers to the needy by taking part in mass walk

Madam Sri Rudiarti and her family of five will be able to add a few "luxury items" like yoghurt drinks and wholemeal bread to their shopping list this month.

The 45-year-old has been given $100 worth of FairPrice vouchers because someone out there has signed up for a briskwalking event called on "FairPrice Walks with U" on June 29.

The supermarket chain's charity arm FairPrice Foundation will donate these vouchers to more than 20,000 needy families and individuals under financial assistance schemes every time someone signs up.

The event aims to get 5,000 participants to walk 4km in the Marina Barrage area and promote family bonding and healthy living. So far the scheme, which began in 2002, has contributed more than $10 million worth of vouchers to help low-income Singaporeans.
