Four passengers in the same car were killed in an accident on the Central Expressway in the wee hours of Friday morning. The accident took place on the road towards the Seletar Expressway, before the Yio Chu Kang exit.

Singaporean Amron Ayoub, 23, was on his way to the airport with his Korean girlfriend Jamie Song, 24, her parents and brother, when the car they were in broke down. The five of them then got out of the car, when another car hit them.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force received a phone call at 3.56am and arrived to find two women and one man lying motionless on the road. All three were pronounced dead on the scene. Mr Amron was sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital with multiple injuries but died there. Ms Song's brother, who was standing beside the car rather than behind it, was not injured.

The driver of the other car, a 34-year-old man, complained of chest and head pain and was sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
