The police have noticed a number of reported cases of theft of motorcycle components with most cases happening at night. Culprits target motorcycle parts such as the suspension and the associated brake components like the callipers, levers and pumps.

The police in a statement Friday said that motorcyclists can adopt a number of measures to prevent this. This includes parking in well-lit areas, installing an anti-theft alarm, using a motorcycle canvas to cover the motorcycle and securing both ends.

Motorcyclists should also consider using additional locking devices such as a disc brake lock or installing a suspension guard.
