Online payment services on the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board's website went down yesterday, leaving members unable to transfer money from their bank accounts into their CPF accounts.
The outage came a week after the CPF Board managed to fully restore all online services after a major outage that lasted over two weeks and affected various services. A notice on the CPF website confirmed that e-payment services were unavailable as at 6pm yesterday evening.
Civil servant Roy Fong, 36, said he had made several unsuccessful attempts to transfer money into his CPF accounts from his various bank accounts.
"I tried transferring different amounts but was not able to do so," he said, adding that he hopes to shift funds before the end of the year to qualify for tax deductions.
A CPF Board spokesman said users could transfer money into their accounts using other methods such as Giro or at AXS machines, and that other e-services were not affected.
"We are working to resume the website e-payment service as soon as possible," she said, adding that online payment services made up less than 0.5 per cent of daily online transactions.
The earlier service outage was caused by a website upgrade in early December and affected online services such as checking and printing account balances, changing monthly housing payments and making voluntary contributions.
